Shortly after the first of the year I found out that my youngest daugther was going to have another baby. After I got over the initial shock excitement took over and I started to find baby stuff to crochet. Here is the start of a layette that I got from the Baby Boutique book. This pattern is called Heaven Sent.
I’m about halfway done with the blanket for the set and still have the booties and the bonnet to do.
Meet all the pretty kitties in the family! This first one belongs to my daugther, Jeannie and her family. Her name is Crystal. She’s a bit camera shy and ran for the hills after I took this shot.
This is Milo! Sometimes I think he was spawned by Satan, his favorite past time is using me for a pin cushion.
Last but not least is my mother in law’s cat, Boomer. He is king cat at her house! He’s not real fond of children or other pets. An open bag or box is an invitation for him to jump in and nap.
Every few weeks or so my husband takes a trip to the mountains to see his mother and take her grocery shopping since she doesn’t drive and usually has no other way out. I went along for the ride this time.
On the way up I worked on the Layette that I’m doing for my daugther while my husband drove, it’s the only way I can take his driving sometimes. He drives like an old woman and sometimes he would rather pick on me than pay attention to the person in front of him.
When we got to his mother’s in the mountains there was some snow on the ground and some of the roads still had ice on them from where the trees give constant shade. I had noticed on the way up really pretty ice formations coming out of the rocks.
On the way home I had my husband stop on the side of the road so I could take this picture. This is across the Wilke’s county line from Ashe county and just below the Blue Ridge Parkway on route 16.
I got tagged earlier this morning by one of my blog buddies. I’m supposed to name 6 wierd things about me and I took most of the morning to think about it.

#1. I can visually tell you just by looking at a nut or bolt what size wrench or socket that you need in metric. (I’m a bit rusty but I can still do it)
#2. I would rather recieve tools than jewlery. For Christmas I asked for a chordless screwdriver that can also double as a drill.
#3. I would rather work on a car engine or an appliance than do housework.
#4. I like beer and ice cream and or chocolate together.
#5. I used to get high off of air and drunk off of 7Up’s as a teen.
#6. I truely believe that I lived in another time, firm beliver in reincarnation.
Now I don’t have may people in my blog roll and one of the ones I was going to use has been taken by another good friend. A few that I would love to tag don’t have a blog, what a shame!
